UW Medicine postpones certain non-urgent surgeries to create space for COVID-19 patients

SEATTLE – UW Medicine says they are postponing certain non-urgent surgeries to create space for COVID-19 patients. Susan Gregg, a spokesperson with UW Medicine says they are only postponing surgeries that are non-urgent but would require hospitalizations. Each individual case is being reviewed and is only being postponed if there would be no medical harm to the patient. Gregg says the hospital made the decision because of the increase of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in the region.
