Fashion hotspots: Where to shop in summer 2020

Whether in the south of France or in Italy, fashion houses have set up shop in holiday destinations to offer their iconic pieces and their summer capsule collections. And it is in ultra trendy pop-ups that they will welcome their customers. Take a guided tour.

Dior in Capri

On June 27th, Dior set sail for Capri with a pop-up store in the heart of its island paradise. In this ephemeral setting nestled on a cliff, overlooking the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, one discovers an idyllic décor combining bamboo and cane, plant ceilings and breathtaking sea views. An incredible setting that blends perfectly into the surrounding nature.

Inside, customers are invited to discover the Dioriviera 2020 capsule designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, with as many sunny creations as prints that open the door to travel: tops and dresses, signature sailor striped tops, summer accessories and iconic bags are to be found in this pop-up. Among them, there’s the Dior Book Tote, the Saddle and the Diorcamp revisited with motifs from the Dior Around The World line, revealing camouflage patterns and drawings by Pietro Ruffo. And it doesn’t stop there: while the iconic toile de Jouy can be found in a tropical spirit and in pastel colors ranging from gray to blue and pink on the designs, it also covers walls, cushions, parasols, and even beach cabins in a blue color for the occasion. All in all, this truly is the couture address that promises to be the fashion hot spot of the summer.

Loewe in Saint Tropez

On June 26th, Loewe first set foot in the south of France in the heart of Saint-Tropez, rue François Sibilli, when it opened a seasonal store from July to mid-October. In a traditional shop with a vaulted door and large windows, the Spanish label presents its Paula’s Ibiza collection. While Loewe relied on the design and decoration of its original stores, it also drew inspiration from the city of Saint-Tropez for the occasion, with excellent finishes in pine wood and clay. The boutique also took up all the codes of Paula’s Ibiza collection with a colourful tie-dye floor and multicolored lanterns, echoing the season’s prints, which decorate the shop windows.

Inside, there are ready-to-wear pieces for men and women, bags, leather goods, shoes, glasses but also accessories such as scarves and shawls. The selection includes Loewe‘s emblematic Basket, Puzzle and Balloon bags in neon colors for the occasion. This makes it the fashion address to go to if you’re heading south this summer.

Bottega Veneta in Shanghai

Bottega Veneta has installed its ‘invisible’ pop-up store in the heart of Plaza 66 in Shanghai. An ephemeral place that blends completely into the decor of this luxury shopping mall, thanks to a mirror effect. An original and innovative concept that perfectly coincides with the DNA of the Italian label, which has always made minimalism and a certain subtlety its signature. Behind this unusual facade, one enters an immaculate 100 square-meter space, equipped with lighting that enhances every silhouette. Inside, there is a selection of men’s and women’s pieces from the Fall/Winter 2020-2021 pre-collection. The ready-to-wear collection includes bags, leather goods, shoes, jewelry and glasses. Simply put, pop-up store is a must-see if you’re in Shanghai.
