Endgame writer hits back at Marvel criticism

Avengers: Endgame writer Christopher Markus has hit back at criticism of the Marvel movies, by which we mean he has opened up that Martin Scorsese can of worms again.

Last year, the legendary director criticised the franchise, saying that he believed they were “not cinema” and likened them to theme parks instead.

Everyone and their mum had a response to those quotes last October, and now Markus has gone there again.

In a #QuarantineWatchParty of Avengers: Infinity War, Markus replied to fan questions and comments through ComicBook.com‘s official Twitter account.

One viewer asked him if he knew how many people would be affected by that Tony Stark and Peter Parker moment during The Snap.

“Yes,” he replied. “Because we all love these characters. It’s why these movies work. It’s one of the reasons that they’re, you know, cinema.”

The Marvel movie watch parties have had the people involved in the films revealing some interesting behind-the-scenes info.

During the Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 tweetalong, Chris Pratt revealed that he actually got knocked out cold during the filming, while director James Gunn explained why the movie has so many scenes during and after the credits.
